PREMUS 2016 Toronto

Spotlight: Keynote speaker Dr. Jack Callaghan on MSD risks related to sitting and standing

What do we know about prolonged sitting as an injury risk to the low back? Is there an optimal amount of time workers should be sitting and standing to reduce their risk of low-back injury and improve their health? Join Dr. Jack Callaghan, Canada Research Chair in Spine Biomechanics and Injury Prevention—and PREMUS 2016 keynote speaker—as he talks about a research program that seeks to understand how exposure to a variety of factors initiates and exacerbates low-back injury. Find out what he has learned about how to assess daily loading on the back and how to set workplace exposure limits to prevent low-back injuries, including limits for sitting and standing on the job—and the optimal mix between the two.

BYOBB! PREMUS 2016 is going green

PREMUS 2016 is taking place at Toronto’s Allstream Centre, a stunning and historic art deco building that is billed as Canada’s greenest conference centre. In keeping with Allstream’s environmentally friendly technologies and practices, PREMUS 2016 is going as green as possible in other ways, too. For example, we are asking you to BYOBB: Bring Your Own Bag and Bottle (water bottle, that is). Upon registering, conference attendees will get an at-a-glance program tucked in their badges; all other conference materials will be available online. So please bring your own carry-all and/or water bottle, if desired.
