Health and Safety Association Liaison Committee
The Health and Safety Association (HSA) Liaison Committee provides a forum for discussion and information-sharing between the Institute for Work & Health, the Centres for Research Expertise, and Ontario’s health and safety associations (HSAs). In particular, the committee helps the Institute to understand the research and information needs of the HSAs. The committee meets quarterly.
Members include representatives of:
- Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (formerly the Construction Safety Association of Ontario, Electrical & Utilities Safety Association and Transportation Health & Safety Association of Ontario)
- Public Services Health and Safety Association (formerly the Education Safety Association of Ontario, Ontario Safety Association for Community and Healthcare and Municipal Health and Safety Association of Ontario)
- Safe Workplace Promotion Services Ontario (formerly the Industrial Accident Prevention Association, Ontario Service Safety Alliance, Farm Safety Association Inc.)
- Workplace Safety North (formerly the Mines and Aggregates Safety and Health Association, Pulp and Paper Health and Safety Association, Ontario Forestry Safe Workplace Association)
- Occupational Cancer Research Centre
- Occupational Health Clinic for Ontario Workers, Inc. (OHCOW)
- Workers Health and Safety Centre (WHSC)
- Ontario Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB)
- Ontario Ministry of Labour (MoL)
- The Institute for Work & Health
- Centre of Research Expertise in Occupational Disease (CREOD)

Ron Saunders, who is the Institute’s Interim Director of Knowledge Transfer & Exchange, chairs the committee.
