Web and Design Coordinator
The Institute for Work & Health is an independent, not-for-profit, applied research organization that focuses on two broad areas: preventing work-related injury and illness, and understanding effective workplace practices and clinical treatments that support recovery and return to work for disabled workers.

Web and Design Coordinator
The Institute for Work & Health (IWH) is currently recruiting for a Web and Design Coordinator to join its Knowledge Transfer and Exchange (KTE) Department. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Web and Design Coordinator is primarily responsible for leading the design, operation and maintenance of the IWH’s primary and associated websites—including developing and maintaining web applications and features, updating web content, and troubleshooting and resolving website issues. This person is also responsible for keeping the website platform software updated (and a move from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 is anticipated over the next 18 months) and, working with IT, keeping the web server software updated as well.
The Web and Design Coordinator is also involved in overseeing and supporting the design and production of web and print-based IWH publications. This includes overseeing the development, implementation and use of IWH-branded corporate templates.
Required Skills and Experience
The Web and Design Coordinator will, ideally, possess a university degree or college diploma in computer science, web development or a related area, and have three to five years of job-related experience. Work in a research environment will be considered an asset. He or she will have a proven track record, including a portfolio of successful web projects. Qualified candidates for this position would be expected to demonstrate the following:
- work experience developing websites, ideally using the Drupal platform;
- fluency in MySQL, PHP, CSS, (x)html and Javascript, and ability to add to skills as required;
- working knowledge of the Adobe Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Reader), as well as Microsoft Office Suite (including PowerPoint);
- excellent project management, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills;
- ability to take initiative and to balance multiple priorities;
- knowledge of, and commitment to, the aims of the Institute.

Salary Range
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week), with a starting salary range of $52,000 to $57,000 (depending on qualifications and experience), plus a full benefits package.
