Workplace Disability Benchmarking
Announcement: Workplace Disability Benchmarking
January 31, 2011
The Institute for Work & Health has suspended active recruitment of disability benefit plans to participate in the Workplace Disability Benchmarking program.
The Workplace Disability Benchmarking program is an initiative of the Institute for Work & Health, designed to provide employers with an impartial source of information on the performance of disability management and benefit programs. The program is based on a standardized approach to the collection of disability program metrics and the comparison of metrics among employers in similar economic sectors.
The Institute for Work & Health remains committed to supporting advances in disability management that benefit both employees and employers in the Canadian economy.

“Investments in disability management by businesses are really investments in an increasingly valued resource — skilled and experienced people. This is particularly true at a time when businesses must defend their competitive position in the face of enormous financial pressures.” — Bill Wilkerson, CEO and Co-Founder, Global Business Economic Roundtable on Addiction and Mental Health.
