Era Mae Ferron is a research associate at the Institute for Work & Health.
Ferron is involved in two studies at the Institute. In one, she is looking at the implementation and impact of Ontario’s workplace violence prevention legislation in acute-care hospitals. In the other, she is working with Dr. Dwayne Van Eerd and Dr. Ben Amick on a study to examine the effects of a participatory ergonomics program called Employees Participating in Change (EPIC) on the health and safety of vulnerable workers in long-term care facilities.
Ferron is a registered nurse and has a PhD in nursing from the University of Toronto’s Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing. Her research interests are workplace violence in health care, and the retention and turnover of nurses.
