Building Smarter Organizations

Gordon Vala-Webb is author of Building Smarter Organizations, an innovation professional and organization transformer, a contributor to the Huffington Post, and an award-winning knowledge management practitioner and thought leader. He speaks at events, runs workshops, and provides consulting services based on his 17-plus years of experience helping large/complex public- and private-sector organizations become smarter.

Previous roles he has held include national director of knowledge management for PwC Canada, national director of innovation and information at McMillan LLP, and policy advisor to the Ontario Cabinet Office.

Gordon also has 10 years of Ontario government policy experience, including being the director of the Ministry of Labour’s Workplace Insurance and Occupational Health and Safety Policy Branch. He led the amalgamation of a set of health and safety associations and became the inaugural chair of the Board of Directors of the resulting Workplace Safety and Prevention Services.

Gordon is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Innovation Professionals and holds a master’s degree in the management of technology.
