Workplace Safety & Prevention Services
Kiran Kapoor is the director of business and market strategy with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS), a health and safety association in Ontario that provides health and safety expertise, insight and solutions for creating healthy work environments to businesses, large and small, in the agriculture, service and manufacturing sectors.
Kapoor has held progressive positions within Ontario’s occupational health and safety system for over 10 years. Currently, her primary role at WSPS is to develop the strategic and go-to-market plan, through the use of research and analytics, market intelligence and stakeholder/customer consultations, and to operationalize the plan through business planning. This includes developing a framework to monitor and report on corporate performance targets. Kapoor's interests include using evidence to inform strategy and decision-making, and the application of research to the workplace.
Prior to her current position with WSPS, Kapoor worked in various roles in both the public and private sectors, including with Shell Canada, City of Toronto and the Technical Standards & Safety Authority. She focused on strategy, research/program evaluation, and the establishment of health and safety management systems and programs.
Kiran has a master’s in occupational and environmental health from the University of Toronto, and holds Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designations.
