Norman Rees has over 35 years of executive leadership experience and is a respected advisor in the not-for-profit agencies' start-up sector. An expert in directing the planning, governance, infrastructure, and business and financial strategies of large public-sector and private corporations, he possesses broad experience working with boards of directors.
Rees has held leadership roles in the areas of finance, information technology, human resources and operations. He was the inaugural chief financial officer of Public Health Ontario, from the agency's founding in 2008 until 2013. Prior to that, he served as a senior finance executive in large, multi-site, community acute-care hospitals in the GTA, including Lakeridge Health and Rouge Valley Health System.
Rees is currently the treasurer of the York Region Arts Council and a member of the York Region District School Board Audit Committee.
He holds CPA and CA designations, and has a bachelor's of business administration from York University.
