Purpose

The purpose of the PAIQ Evidence Observatory is to conduct an ongoing identification and synthesis of research regarding the impact of workplace-based artificial intelligence (AI) on worker safety, health, and well-being using a living systematic review approach.

A living systematic review is a systematic review that is regularly updated, and which incorporates relevant new evidence as it becomes available. (Elliot et al., 2017).

Expected outcomes

This research cluster will produce recommendations for practice based on the quality, quantity, and consistency of peer-reviewed evidence. This website will present report descriptive findings as they become available.

Key activities

  • Ensure Rigorous and Transparent Living Review Methods: Apply systematic search, screening, and quality appraisal methods across academic literature sources, re-run annually to ensure currency.
  • Synthesize Findings by Emerging Themes from the Living Review.
  • Integrate Insights: Feed Evidence Observatory findings into the PAIQ project’s conceptual framework.
  • Engage Partners: Work with partners to interpret evidence and its implications for workers, workplaces, and AI governance.
  • Translate Insights: Develop knowledge products, including an online dashboard to present evidence and recommendations.
