Dr. Robert Sinclair

Dr. Robert Sinclair is a professor of industrial and organizational psychology at Clemson University, where he also serves as the graduate program coordinator for the department’s MS and PhD programs in psychology. Prior to coming to Clemson in 2008, he held faculty positions at Portland State University (2000-2008) and the University of Tulsa (1995-1999).
Sinclair’s research specialty is occupational health psychology (OHP). His work includes over 120 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, 200-plus presentations, and four edited books on topics such as the impact of economic stressors on wellbeing, the changing employment relationship, stress resilience and organizational climates that support occupational safety and health. He has served in multiple leadership roles, including as a founding member and president of the Society for Occupational Health Psychology, as a study section member for the National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety, and as an editorial board member for multiple journals.
He currently serves as founding editor-in-chief of Occupational Health Science, a peer-reviewed journal that publishes research on psychosocial issues related to employee safety, health and wellbeing.
Sinclair received his MS (1992) and PhD (1995) degrees in industrial and organizational psychology from Wayne State University.
